Designed to protect their scalp, neck and forehead, and for use in and out of the water. Top tip: wear goggles over the top to hold in place whilst swimming underwater. This is a bright turquoise hat, with white embroidered emblem. Matching turquoise swim leggings, shorts, tops and all-in-one suits are available. The extra small size is recommended for age 6m-2 years, the small for 3-5 years and the medium for 6-8 years. 

UPF50+ rated fabric, the highest possible rating and which means less than one fiftieth of the sun’s UV rays reach the skin. Super soft, luxurious and eco-friendly, the fabric is 78% ECONYL®️ regenerated polyamide yarn from ghost fishing nets, and 22% Lycra®️ XTRALife. Ultra-chlorine resistant and resistant to suncream stains. Reshape the peak when damp if necessary.

The legionnaire's hats are made from the same UPF 50+ fabric as our swimsuits. The bucket hats have no adjustment mechanism. The baseball caps can be adjusted using the velcro fastener.

78% ECONYL (regenerated polyamide from ghost fishing nets) and 22% Lycra XTRALife.

Machine wash at 40 degrees. No bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron maximum 110 degrees. Dry clean (perchloroethylene).

FAQs

What sun protection do they give?

Our signature swimwear fabric, which is used for our legionnaires hats, has a UPF rating of 50+, meaning less than one in 50 of UVA and UVB rays penetrate through, so total sun protection. 

Are they washable?

Yes, fully washable as with other sportswear and hang to dry. The peak of the cap of this hat may need to be reshaped by hand when it is drying: just bend it the right way if needed. Can be worn in and out of the water. If wearing underwater, a top tip is to wear goggles over the top to secure the hat in place. 

What is the function of the flap at the back?

The flap of fabric that covers the back of the neck protects the back of the neck from sun exposure: perfect for when children are building sand castles. The peak at the front of the cap casts a shadow to cover the face depending on the angle of the sun. The rest of the hat protects the scalp.
